My Story

Hi I'm Wendy, and welcome to Wendy Wanders.

If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be travelling around Britain in a motorhome with my two cocker spaniels, writing about my adventures, creating artwork inspired by the places I visit and sharing it all online, I probably wouldn't have believed you.

For many years I owned and ran Hemera Holidays, a successful holiday business here in Northumberland. I loved helping people discover beautiful places and create lasting memories. When I sold the business, I thought I had a clear picture of what retirement would look like.

Life, however, had other plans.

Sometimes the most unexpected chapters become the ones that shape us the most.

Today, you'll usually find me travelling with Nancy, my motorhome, and my two faithful companions, Gracie and Sasha. Together we're discovering hidden beaches, peaceful forests, welcoming campsites and the incredible beauty of Britain, one adventure at a time.

Along the way I've rediscovered something I'd almost forgotten – my love of creating.

The colours of a sunrise over the sea, the textures of driftwood, wildflowers, rolling countryside and dramatic coastlines all find their way into my artwork. Every piece I create tells part of the journey, carrying a little of the places that inspired it.

But Wendy Wanders is about more than travel or art.

It's about embracing change.

It's about finding joy in the little things.

It's about proving that life doesn't stop when one chapter ends – sometimes that's exactly when the best adventures begin.

Here you'll find stories from the road, photographs of beautiful places, handmade artwork inspired by nature and, I hope, a little encouragement to embrace your own next chapter, wherever that may lead.

So...

Pull up a chair, put the kettle on, and come wandering with me.

I'm so glad you're here.

❤️ Wendy

Kallisae Studio is where my creativity comes to life.

Inspired by the landscapes, coastlines and quiet moments I experience while travelling, I create resin art, home décor and keepsakes that capture the colours and beauty of nature. Every piece is handmade by me and carries a little of the journey that inspired it.
