My Story

Hello, I'm Wendy, and thank you for visiting Kallisae Arts.

If someone had told me a few years ago that I'd be creating artwork, exhibiting at local events and running resin workshops, I would never have believed them.

Like many people, life hasn't always gone to plan. After taking early retirement through ill health, I suddenly found myself with something I'd never really had before – time. At first, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Then, almost by accident, I discovered resin art.

What started as a hobby quickly became a passion.

I was fascinated by the way resin flowed, the depth of colour it created and the fact that no two pieces were ever the same. Every board, clock, bowl or decorative piece develops its own character, making each creation completely unique.

As my confidence grew, so did my creativity.

I began experimenting with acrylic pour painting, and that's where I discovered another way to express myself. Unlike traditional painting, acrylic pouring is wonderfully unpredictable. Every movement of colour creates something that can never be repeated.

For me, each painting tells a story.

Some reflect days when life feels full of hope, happiness and energy, bursting with bold colours and movement. Others are created during quieter moments of reflection, using darker tones that still carry beauty, strength and optimism. Each canvas captures a moment in time and an emotion that words sometimes can't express.

Today, Kallisae Arts allows me to combine both of these creative passions. Every piece I make is handcrafted in my Northumberland studio using quality materials, patience and plenty of imagination.

I'm incredibly proud that my work has been exhibited at local events, and even more honoured to have been invited to teach resin workshops, sharing the enjoyment and confidence that creating something by hand can bring. My next workshop takes place this October, and I love seeing complete beginners leave with something they're genuinely proud of.

Kallisae Arts has become far more than simply making beautiful things. It represents resilience, new beginnings and discovering that it's never too late to embrace a passion you never knew you had.

Kallisae Studio is where my travels become art.
